Unveiling of The "Engineering Lab of Shipbuilding Tech Innovation"

On January 6th, the "Engineering Laboratory of Shipbuilding Technology Innovation" was unveiled in Zhoushan Ningshing Ship Building & Repairing. Mr. Tong Longjun, member of the Trust Committee of Macao University of Science and Technology Foundation, Executive Dean of Nanjing University of Science and Technology Research Institute, Mr. Wu Yigang, Chairman of Ningshing Holdings, Ms. Gao Ping, Vice Chairman and Party Secretary, Mr. Wang Wentong, Vice President and Chairman of Zhoushan Ningshing Ship Building & Repairing, attended the unveiling ceremony. Mr. Ye Jun, member of the Standing Committee of Daishan County and Secretary of Daishan Economic Development Zone, was among the invited guest and made a speech.

The laboratory was jointly established by Zhoushan Ningshing Ship Building & Repairing and Nanjing Macau University of Science and Technology. Taking advantage of Macau University of Science and Technology's talented team, their scientific research strength, and their advanced knowledge in the field, the laboratory integrates digital shipbuilding resources in the shipbuilding industry. The laboratory concentrates the development strength of Industry-University-Research, consolidated with the technical foundation of digital shipbuilding, the application of artificial intelligence in shipbuilding, the innovation of new materials, and the promotion of new technology.  

Mr. Wang Wentong and Mr. Wang Jianyun, Vice President of Nanjing Institute of Information Management, signed a cooperation agreement. Chairman Wu and Dean Tong unveiled the establishment of the laboratory.

On behalf of Ningshing Holdings, Ms Gao Ping, Vice Chairman of Ningshing, congratulated the successful signing ceremony between the two parties. She said that Zhoushan Ningshing is an important part of Ningshing Holdings. She highlighted Zhoushan Ningshing’s achievements and honors in recent years. She said she hoped that both sides would make joint efforts, give full play to their respective advantages to make greater achievements and breakthroughs and engage in win-win cooperation in the new era of rapid development of shipbuilding industry. She also said that she hoped to see the achievements of R&D materialize into practical productivity and competitiveness and contribute to the high-quality development of China's shipbuilding power.

Dean Tong said that he has worked with Ningshing Holdings for more than 20 years, establishing a laboratory with Zhoushan Ningshing would deepened the friendship and could trail-blaze a bright future in the partnership between Zhoushan Ningshing and   Macau University of Science and Technology..

Mr. Ye briefly introduced the development status and future trend of Daishan county focusing on its location advantages, maritime service orientation and related policy orientation. He hoped that the newly established engineering laboratory would give full play to its advantages and efficiency, and gradually become a provincial & national level laboratory in the areas of digitalization, lightweight and low carbon.

After the ceremony, the participants visited the newly-established Zhoushan Ningshing’s Special Ship Construction Base.
